Ways We Can Work Together
Every Story Deserves a safe space
Individual Counselling
Individual counselling at Narrative Pathways is available to young people aged 12 and over, and to adults who want to better understand themselves and the patterns shaping their lives.
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to the individual. Together, we explore your experiences and the patterns that have developed over time, while recognising the strengths and coping strategies that have carried you this far.
Understanding is important, but insight alone is not enough. Therapy also involves learning and practising practical tools so you can respond differently outside the therapy room. Change happens in everyday life. My role is to walk alongside you as you build the understanding and skills to support yourself in ways that align with who you want to be.
My approach integrates a range of therapeutic frameworks, including cognitive and behavioural therapies, attachment-informed work, somatic approaches, parts work and psychodynamic thinking. What we draw on depends on you and your goals.
Behaviours are not shamed or dismissed. We begin by understanding how they developed and what they protected. From there, we consider whether they still fit with the direction you want your life to take.
Counselling is not about fixing or changing who someone is. It is about developing understanding, recognising patterns, and building safer ways of responding to emotions, relationships, and challenges.

For young people under 18, counselling is provided with careful consideration of consent, confidentiality, and developmental needs. Parent or carer involvement is discussed collaboratively, with the young person’s wellbeing and privacy at the centre.
Therapeutic Life Story Work
Therapeutic Life Story Work is a trauma informed therapeutic approach that supports children, young people, and adults with care or adoption experience to make sense of their life story in a safe and supported way.
Grounded in attachment and relationship based practice and informed by the work of Richard Rose, this approach focuses on understanding how early experiences, relationships, and systems have shaped identity, beliefs, and ways of coping.
This work is not about determining truth or blame. It is about exploring different perspectives including family, carers, systems, and the individual themselves so people can develop a clearer and more compassionate understanding of their story.
